Product Details
1. Product Introduction:
The piston column sediment sampler is a professional tool designed for collecting sediment, bottom sediment and sludge in rivers, lakes and ponds. It is also suitable for collecting samples in environments such as swamp soil and peat soil. The device has a sturdy and durable structure and is suitable for use in waters with a depth of no more than 5 meters. It adopts a modular design, allowing users to select appropriate accessories for assembly according to different needs.
2. Technical parameters:
Applicable water depth: maximum support 5 meters;
Sampling tube length: 100 cm;
Sampling tube diameter: 4 cm;
Cutting head material: stainless steel (suitable for routine analysis), engineering plastic (suitable for heavy metal analysis);
3. Standard configuration:
1. Beating handle x 1;
2. Energy absorbing hammer x 1;
3. Extension rod x 5 (each 1 meter long);
4. Sampler (including stainless steel cutting head) x 1;
5. Engineering plastic cutting head x 2;
6. Sampling tube x 2;
7. Spare piston x 4;
8. Anti-extension rope x 1;
9. Scraper x 1;
10. Steel tape measure x 1;
11. Wrench x 2;
12. Gloves x 1 pair;
13. Aluminum box x 1;
4. Usage:
Preparation stage: First make sure all components are complete and check whether they are intact.
Assembly: Install the piston after passing the piston rod through the fixture and then place it into the sampling tube; then replace the cutting head as needed and secure the entire device with the provided steel band.
Connect the rope: Connect the anti-extension rope to the top of the piston rod.
Adjust the length: Add an extension rod as appropriate according to the actual water depth and install the T-handle.
Positioning and insertion: After selecting the appropriate position, insert it vertically into the water until you feel an increase in resistance indicating that you have contacted the bottom sediment layer; lift it slightly and reposition it to ensure representativeness of the sample.
Sampling operation: Pull the rope to keep the piston stable while pressing down on the T-handle to allow the sampling tube to penetrate into the sediment. When the required depth is reached, use the rope to fix the piston state and slowly pull it up to complete the sampling process.
